The performance of a processor is a key feature critical for the entire system to succeed.
Performance verification is a challenging task, with unique characteristics, different from functional verification. While functional discrepancies are clear cut cases, performance requirements are usually defined per system benchmark. Pre-silicon verification is mostly done on smaller components (unit-level and element-level), hence verification scenarios should predict the system behavior over the benchmark, yielding approximated requirements.
The Performance Verification project analyzes performance tests results. We provide advanced visualization and alerts to the verification team. This analysis allows the team to quickly identify performance drifts and offers them guidance on where the problem originated.
