Edward Giesen

Edward Giesen is EMEA Leader for Business Strategy and for Component Business Modeling (CBM). Edward has a master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Delft and an MBA in strategic management from the Technical University of Twente (honors degree). In his professional career, Edward has conducted many strategic assignments for leading companies across different industries in Europe. Regarding Component Business Modeling, Edward is a regular speaker on European client conferences; he also has been invited by many clients across Europe to discuss and execute CBM. Besides his client facing roles, Edward played an important role in the development of thought leadership, especially in the on demand area.


Shanker Ramamurthy

Shanker Ramamurthy is the global leader of IBM's Banking & Financial Markets Industry consulting practice. He is also one of the lead authors of the Component Business Modelling (CBM) method and the global leader for IBM's CBM initiative.

Shanker is a qualified accountant with an undergraduate degree in mathematics. He also has an MBA in finance from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and a master's degree in information science from the University of New South Wales in Australia. He has over twenty years of consulting experience and has consulted widely to Fortune 100 financial institutions in North America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region.

He is a widely quoted thought leader and speaker and has authored several papers by leveraging his experience in transforming large enterprises, including "Simplify to Succeed," "The Specialized Enterprise," and "Component Business Models: Making Specialization Real."

In 2005 he was ranked as one of the 50 most influential financial services consultants worldwide by Euromoney magazine (Euromoney Financial Services Consultants & Advisors Guide 2005).

Prior to his current role, Shanker has held several leadership roles within IBM and PricewaterhouseCoopers, including:
  • Global Managing Partner for IBM's Financial Services Strategy & Change Consulting Practice (2004 through 2006)
  • Global Relationship Partner for American Express. American Express is the largest world-wide Financial Services client relationship for IBM (2002 thru 2006)
  • Global Lead Partner for the Financial Services Strategy and Change practice and member of the global financial services leadership team for PricewaterhouseCoopers (2001 thru 2002)
  • Lead Partner for the IT Strategy Practice for the Americas (1999 thru 2000).
  • Managing Partner for the IT Strategy Practice for Price Waterhouse for Asia Pacific across all industries (1997 thru 1998)
  • Lead Partner for the Financial Services Technology Practice for Australasia (1996 thru 1997)


David Cohn

Dr. David Cohn is Director of Business Informatics at IBM's T.J. Watson Research Center. He supervises a research team focused on modeling, transforming, and integrating information and business structures for on-demand solutions and directs IBM's worldwide research strategy in support of Business Design & Implementation. In addition, Dr. Cohn is the IBM "Business Value" area strategy leader (together with Thomas Li). The Business Value area addresses core business value and the business processes and metrics IBM clients use to strive for competitive advantage. Prior to his current position, Dr. Cohn directed IBM's Austin Research Laboratory in Texas and served as Director of Strategic Projects at Armonk. Before joining IBM, he was Professor of Computer Science and Engineering and Professor of Electrical Engineering at Notre Dame.


Guy Rackham

Mr. Rackham is an IBM Distinguished Engineer, the first appointed to the Strategy and Change consulting practice in IBM. He has over 25 years technology management, consulting, design, and implementation experience, mostly acquired in the financial service sector, and he has worked extensively in Europe, the US and Asia. He invented IBM's component business modeling (CBM) technique and is currently leading the Business Architecture function in IBM's global composite business services (CBS) SOA initiative, where he continues to develop and refine the CBM approach. Mr. Rackham has a degree in computer science and technology from Cambridge University, UK.


Nachum Sussman

Nachum Sussman is an IBM certified IT architect specialized in networking and integration architecture. He's the Business Development Executive in IBM Global Technology Services in Israel.


Amit Fisher

Amit Fisher manages the Business Transformation group at the IBM Haifa Research Labs. His main areas of expertise are business architecture and modeling (Component Business Model in particular), business models, business strategy and IT strategy, business process management, service-oriented architecture, data mining and business intelligence, operations research, marketing, and business development. Mr. Fisher gained a lot of experience in participating and leading business strategy projects, and was one of the main contributors to the CBM models, method, tools, and analytics. He is also the project manager of the CBM practitioner tool v 2.0 and the leader of the CBM II research projects. Furthermore, Mr. Fisher is involved in shaping IBM's future business-level tools, and he leads several projects in this realm. He has a B.Sc. in industrial engineering and management and an M.Sc. in information system engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
