RAMS over Ohio and Pennsylvania
You can look at RAMS output at eight km resolution computed for November
1, 1996, with a focus on Pittsburgh. This example is accompanied with an
in-line image. Click on the image to see a full-size image of the same
data. There is an MPEG animation for this example.
Output at eight km resolution for a region surrounding Pittsburgh, which
includes portions of several states and Lake Erie and southern Canada.
Cloud water density is shown as white, translucent isosurfaces with surface
humidity shown as continuous pseudo-color terrain. Cloud reflectivity corresponding
to internal rain shafts is shown as cyan isosurfaces. Surface winds are
shown as pseudo-colored flags, which point in the direction of the wind.
The terrain is overlaid with state (white), and county boundaries (gray),
and river (blue) and coastline (black) maps. A 12-frame
MPEG animation will illustrate these techniques and data.
