9729 optical fiber multiplexer

IBM announced the 9729 Optical Wavelength Division Multiplexor product in Nov.'95. It is a fiber-optic multiplexer capable of transmitting 20 bit streams (10 full duplex channels), each at up to 1 Gb/s on a single fiber over a distance of 50 km. Currently supported interfaces include ESCON and FDDI with other interfaces available upon request.
