Irene Ros

Research Developer

Irene joined the Visual Communication Lab in June 2008. Her interests include building engaging user interfaces, exploring large datasets with the goal of identifying new unforeseen relationships and exploring cutting edge technologies.

Irene holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her undergraduate thesis focused on the use of a visual agent coordination language to model a real world medial process: adult outpatient chemotherapy. The goal of the project was to enhance the safety and efficiency of complex medical processes by scientifically modeling them. Additionally, she worked on studying the viability of long-distance point-to-point communication using the 802.11 standard. Finally she worked on enhancing a collaborative courseware presentation system with a note-sharing component.

Prior to her rotational assignment, Irene spent two years in the Lotus brand working on Domino Administration products which included a web administration interface and a best practices server analyzer.

In her spare time, Irene enjoys solving math puzzles, playing piano, singing, painting, traveling to new places, exploring Boston's endless array of art galleries and the great outdoors. Irene has spent most of her life in Israel which left her in pursuit of the ever-elusive perfect middle-eastern food.
