Guilherme B. Boettcher

Research Intern

Guilherme is pursuing a B.S. degree in Computer Science at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Brazil. In the past, he has worked with microelectronics, computer graphics and dynamic web page programming. In 2004, he discovered the world of Infovis during a talk that Fernanda Viégas gave in Brazil. Since then, he has become interested not only in showing information in attractive and insightful ways, but also in creating new and better ways of visualizing data. When he is not programming, he likes to read, play acoustic guitar, play basketball and surf. This is his first time in the U.S. and he's psyched to be working in the Visual Communication Lab.
