Voice Application Middleware (VAM)

(1) Rendezvous application

The current conferencing systems require users to remember the conference bridge number and the passcode for dialing into conference bridge. This creates difficulties for mobile users who are frequently do not have accessed the calendar to look up the bridge number and passcode. This project is to create a conference system to seamlessly integrate VoIP and user's personal calendar. Such that user need only to call an unique phone number, after authentication, the middleware will automatically put user into conference. Furthermore, the middleware will figure out the best conference bridges for cost saving. The middleware also maintain the topology of the voice data path for scalability and resiliency. (2) Scalable voice and communication subsystem for Gaming

This project investigate and build a scalable voice subsystem for internet Gaming. The key is to separately manage and maintain the control path and voice data path. It investigate an infrastructureless conference model for the low cost and scalability. In this new model, the end points will perform the voice mixing operations such that no external conference server is required. This project will also investigate the communication subsystem for gaming using SIP infrastructure. We will build a prototype to integrate with a game program.
