The Real Time Streaming (media control) Protocol (RTSP) is a remote control for multimedia on the Internet. This toolkit is derived from tools originally developed for ATM/video research and other stuff back in 1995-1996. The toolkit reflects the Unix philosophy of shells, processes and generic tools, and is adequate for protocol testing and development. Its shell-based implementation illustrates usefulness of the RTSP protocol for non-multimedia applications. The author currently uses it to operate chess games, and it could be used to control home VCRs and microwaves in the future.

Please visit our developmental site for the latest revisions of the code.
Also, an AIX/C++ implementation is available on our IBM internal site.
