The Project began with the joint signing of a Scientific Research Agreement by the Augusto N. Wiese Foundation, the Pontificial Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) and IBM Peru, S.A., for the graphical reconstruction of the ceiling of the Huaca Cao Viejo at the El Brujo archeological site. This agreement was approved on October 18, 1995.

Fundación Augusto N. Wiese

The Augusto N. Wiese Foundation provided the space for the students' work at the El Brujo site. In addition, it contributed a computer at the site, and the experience of the archeologist Régulo Franco, of the El Brujo archeological project. The foundation also assigned the restorer Víctor Fernández to work at PUCP. Mr. Fernández had been in charge of the collection of pieces at the huaca until 1995, and he brought to the project valuable information about the characteristics of the pieces. He is the primary user of the ARMADO system, and he is responsible for the reconstruction that has been done so far.
