I am a Research Staff Member at the Data Analytics Research group at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY.
I joined IBM Research in September 2003, shortly after receiving my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego under the guidance of Professor Charles Elkan.
My research interests lie in machine learning and data mining, more specifically:
- Methods for learning decision policies from data describing outcomes of previous decisions (including cost-sensitive learning and bias correction methods).
- Reductions between machine learning problems (for example: between reinforcement learning and classifier learning).
- Applications to business problems such as customer segmentation, customer wallet estimation and fraud detection.
