PLDI 2001 is proud to announce the availability of grants for faculty from colleges with high female and/or minority enrollment to attend the PLDI tutorials and conference in Snowbird, Utah in June 2001.
Funding for the grants is provided by the ACM's Special Interest Group on Programming Languages (SIGPLAN).
Faculty members attending the tutorials and conference will be exposed to state-of-the-art research in programming languages and compiler design. The program's goal is to help faculty members improve their existing curricula and/or introduce new curricula, through exposure to leading-edge material at the conference and tutorials.
The grants will cover travel and accomodation expenses up to $1,200, plus the PLDI 2001 tutorial and conference registration. The reimbursement amount will vary depending on the travel distance and on whether the participant attends both the tutorial and conference programs, or only one of these programs. Please view the PLDI 2001 web site for information about travel and hotel arrangements for the conference.
To be eligible, the applicant must be a faculty member in good standing at a college with high female and/or minority enrollment, actively involved in undergraduate teaching of computer science, and have no other sources of funding to attend the PLDI 2001 tutorials and conference.
The hard deadline for applications is 14th May 2001 at noon PST. No extensions will be possible due to the tight schedule we are running on. Please print out the application form and send it with the requested attachments (by postal mail or by fax) toStephen Fink
