BIO
I am a Research Staff Member in the Intelligent
Information Management Department at the IBM T. J. Watson Research
Center. My projects cover what I found to be interesting aspects of
data management: event-driven architectures, mobile clients, e-commerce
applications, semantics, publish/subscribe systems, query processing
and index optimization, transaction support, and architecture-aware
databases.
Currently, I am the technical lead of NetCQ: a system that dynamically
and flexibly assigns query operators to a set of distributed physical
nodes under resource constraints. The main goal of NetCQ is to improve
throughput, which is an essential requirement in
monitoring systems that seek to support high rates of events. Some of
the interesting issues we are tackling include semantics of
event processing operators in distributed systems, fault tolerance,
load balancing and flexibility, storage and processing of events as
well as of continuous queries.
