This workshop has been held annually for the last seven years and attracts
many attendees from both industry and academia every year. The workshop
covers all system aspects of scalable shared-memory multiprocessors. The
topics include :
- Multiprocessor cache coherence
- Benchmarking and performance evaluation
- Scalable operating systems for shared memory servers
- Commercial application scaling on shared memory servers
- Hardware and software fault tolerance of shared-memory systems
- Multiprocessing on a single device (chip)
- Interconnection technology for shared memory servers
- Shared memory multiprocessing using network of workstations
- Software cache coherence
- Design and evaluation of large caches
- Impact of speculative execution, prefetching on scalability
- Virtual shared memory systems
- Update on building projects in industry and in academia
In addition to the regular presentations, there will be a special
invited talks
session on Scalable Shared Memory Enterprise Servers with
speakers from both industry and academia.
Copies of abstracts will be made available (neither papers nor slides will be
distributed) to the attendees during the workshop. Please send your abstract
submissions (1 page or less, ASCII text) by e-mail by March 05, 1999, to one
