The Image Information System Group

Welcome to the home page for the
Image Information System Group, part of the
Networked Data Systems department
in the
T.J. Watson Research Center
of the
IBM Research Division.
Our research agenda:
- Produce progressive data representation for unstructured data (such as
time series, image, video, and multidimensional data) using, for example,
wavelet transformation techniques;
- Investigate efficient data mining and search algorithms for
unstructured data;
- Investigate extensible query environment for multimedia objects;
- Using the extracted information in applications which help people
to get value from networked access to large collections of unstructured
data.
Our interests:
We are interested in developing a progressive content-based
query and data mining framework for:
- time series (stock, interest rate, CPI);
- photographic images and video;
- satellite images, for example:
from high-resolution satellites;
- medical images (MRI, CT, PET, X-rays), for example:
from MRI;
- seismic data, for example:
and
- other multimedia data.
Our partners in IBM
We work closely with the people in the government ISU at Boulder.
We also work with Software Solutions Divison, in particular
the
Digital Library
and the
MediaMiner
groups.
