Transportation Options

Public transportation is available for most (but not all) of the the trip from area airports to the Hawthorne area and the IBM site.

From JFK Airport to Westchester County

Take AirTrain to Jamaica Station.
At Jamaica Station, take the E subway to the Lexington Ave/53 Street Station.
Transfer to the 6 subway (through the 51 Street Station) and take it to Grand Central Station.
At Grand Central Station take a Metro-North train to Westchester:

To Courtyard Tarrytown / Hampton Inn: take Hudson line to the Tarrytown station (1.5 mi to the hotel by taxi)
To IBM / Comfort Inn: take Harlem line to the Hawthorne station (taxi to IBM or the hotel)

Alternatively, some airport shuttle services are available from JFK (see destination: Westchester).

These can bring you to the White Plains Metro-North station from where you can take a taxi to your hotel or the lab (please check with individual shuttle operators).

From LaGuardia Airport to Westchester County

Public transit (bus and subway) into Manhattan. Take the subway to Grand Central Station and use Metro-North railroad as above.

From New York Penn Station (Amtrak train station)

Walk from Penn Station (uptown along 7th Ave.) to the 42 Street-Times Square subway stop. Take subway 'S' line to Grand Central Station and take Metro-North to Westchester as above.
