A demonstration of our prototype
implementation of an MPEG-4 Web Service. We show an enterprise media
application, as a useful special case of scene personalization, which was developed using our
MPEG-4 toolkit.
What appears as a single content asset to the application will finally
be delivered to the client in a suitably adapted form. The client is our MPEG-4 player applet
written in Java.
For the present demonstration the alternate content representations have
been created in advance using our XML-based creation tools. For the next step in the
project the alternates will be dynamically created, leading ultimately to a complete
progressive encoding of the content on-demand to suit both the client's needs as well as the
device/network capabilities.
