Bluetooth Local Positioning

Bluetooth is a shortrange wireless communications infrastructure with which we are working to deliver local positioning capabilites. Local positioning provides the ability for mobile devices to learn their location from other, perhaps stationery, devices. This will be particularly important in addressing the location information needs of non-cell- and non-GPS-based devices. We are participating in the Bluetooth Local Positioning Working Group, to define the standards that would be used to providing the local positioning information and services.
