  • More versions of IBM Home Page Reader.
    • The talking Web browser converts the text on webpages to speech, allowing blind and visually impaired users to access the Web with a numeric keypad. Supported languages include American and British English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Japanese.
  • Text mining System, IBM TAKMI, developed and introduced at IBM's PC help centers.

  • Tokyo Mitsubishi Bank is the first Japanese bank to launch its Web services with IBM Research's XML security technology.
