Chuck Alpert, manager of the IBM Research Design Productivity Group.
Established in October 1995, IBM Research - Austin is one of 12 IBM research laboratories worldwide. The lab focuses on the hardware development of high-speed microprocessors; high-performance/low-power Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) design and tools; system-level power analysis; and new system architectures.
The team also has expertise in Software Simulation of IBM Hardware Designs and Mobile Systems. Other projects include flood prediction modeling, 3D microprocessor transistor design, and Main Memory Power, Performance, and Reliability Research.
