A Man
This animation shows how one can express (or imply) a complex set of emotions with a very small set of words. This is one of the important questions of our research -- when so much of the value of informal knowledge has to do with unstated, shared and understood information, how can one extract the complex meaning of something like this? How can one classify, organize and present such information? You might even say that a piece like this has to "grow" on you before you understand it. Much of the tacit knowledge in human organizations is like this animation; it's not easy to classify or even describe, but you know what it means (and how to use it) when you see it.
Here is the same text as in the animation:
Does it have the same impact that way? How would you characterize this man? What are his hopes and dreams? What is his personality like? Do you identify with him? Compare the animation above with the earlier try below (you'll have to reload the page to start it). Which of these do you like better?
