Douglas W. McDavid IBM Global Services, 6300 Diagonal Highway, Boulder, Colorado 80301 (electronic mail: mcdavid@us.ibm.com). Mr. McDavid is a senior consultant in IBM Global Services. He specializes in business semantic modeling in support of information systems development. He has almost 30 years of experience in information management, information systems, and application development in telecommunications, insurance, brokerage, banking, and the public sector. He has been an innovator in the use of modeling to align business and information technology strategies, and he has published and presented his ideas widely.
