Dimitris K. Agrafiotis

Dr. Agrafiotis is Senior Director of the DirectedDiversity group at 3-Dimensional Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He received a B.S. degree in chemistry from the University of Patras, Greece, in 1985, and a Ph.D. degree in theoretical organic chemistry from the Imperial College, University of London, in 1988. Following postdoctoral study in the laboratories of Professor A. Streitwieser at the University of California, Berkeley, and Nobel Laureate E. J. Corey at Harvard, he joined ParkeDavis Pharmaceutical Research as a Senior Scientist in their Computer-Aided Drug Design group. In 1994, he joined 3-Dimensional Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he has focused on the development of intelligent computational tools for combinatorial chemistry, high-throughput screening, and structure-based drug design. Dr. Agrafiotis serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Molecular Graphics and Modelling; he is a co-inventor of 3-D Pharmaceuticals' proprietary DirectedDiversity® technology.
