Webster E. Howard
eMagin Corporation, 2070 Route 52, Hopewell Junction, New York 12533. Dr. Howard received his B.S. degree from Carnegie-Mellon University and his A.M. and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University, all in physics. He joined IBM in 1961 and since 1973 has focused on display technology, managing projects in plasma displays, thin-film electroluminescence, CRTs, and thin-film transistor/liquid crystal displays. The latter project led to the formation of DTI, the joint venture between IBM and Toshiba. In 1993, he joined AT&T as a director in the High-Resolution Technologies Division of AT&T Global Manufacturing and Engineering. In 1996, he joined eMagin Corporation; he is currently Vice President for Technology. Dr. Howard is a Fellow of the American Physical Society, the IEEE, and the Society for Information Display, as well as being a member of Sigma Xi. He is a past President of the Society for Information Display. In 1981, he was a co-recipient of the Wetherill Medal of the Franklin Institute, for his early work in 2D electron gases. He is also a former member of the IBM Academy of Technology. Dr. Howard has authored more than 50 papers and holds 11 U.S. patents.
Olivier F. Prache
eMagin Corporation, 2070 Route 52, Hopewell Junction, New York 12533. Mr. Prache, Director of Product Development at eMagin Corporation, has broad design and project engineering experience in commercial and military flat-panel display markets. Before joining eMagin in 1995, Mr. Prache was manager of product development for PixTech S.A. in France, where he was responsible for all design activities related to display product design. Prior to his association with PixTech, Mr. Prache was manager of the electronics engineering group at OIS Optical Imaging Systems, the leading supplier of AMLCDs to the military avionics market. Before that, he helped develop OIS's first commercial product: an electronic white board using amorphous silicon image sensors. Mr. Prache also was instrumental in the development of a commercial full-page handheld scanner. He received his Engineer's Degree in 1983 from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Electronique et de Radioélectricité de Grenoble (ENSERG) in Grenoble, France.
