(version 1998.4)
For
SRIM-2000, first look at the simple installation instructions (below) for the
Win-95/98/NT version of SRIM. These instructions include trouble-shooting
advice for the installation of SRIM-2000. It is helpful to PRINT out these
instruction for later reference. To SAVE these instructions, on your
web-browser toolbar press: File + Save As. This will allow you to save it to
your SRIM temporary directory.
SRIM 2000 Installation Instructions
SRIM 2000 (Full)
is required for the first installation of SRIM 2000. It includes various
Windows system programs necessary for the SRIM graphics. Download the file
SRIMFULL.EXE into a temporary directory. Execute the file, SRIMFULL.EXE, to
extract the SRIM 2000 files (about 165 files). (If you download the 4 separate
files, put them into the same temporary directory and execute each in turn to
extract the files.) Execute the file SETUP.EXE to install SRIM.
If you have problems,
see the file "Setup SRIM Readme.txt" in your SRIM directory for trouble-shooting
(These are the same instructions as shown in "SRIM 2000 Installation Instructions" above.)
After SRIM is installed and working, all the temporary files may be deleted.
Download SRIM either as
one large file, or in 4 smaller files.

SRIM 2000
(Upgrade) contains updated SRIM files. It can only be used on systems which
already have installed the full SRIM 2000 package (above). If this version is later than the full version, then only
minor changes are included. (1) Make a temporary copy of your old SRIM files in another
directory for backup. (2) Download SRIMUPGR.EXE directly into your SRIM
directory. (3) Execute SRIMUPGR.EXE to upgrade the SRIM files. (4) If
everything works OK, erase the backup files and the download file.
