This shows the broker 1 (blue) offering categories 2 and 3, broker 2 (yellow) offering category 2, and the broker 3 (red) offering categories 1 and 3. Of interest in this picture is the crispness of the lines separating the yellow and blue, and the red and blue, brokers. Consumers with high interest levels in category 2 choose between the yellow or blue broker based on their interest in category 3. Similarly, consumers with high interest levels in category 3 select either the red or the blue broker depending on which of categories 1 or 2 they are more interested in. There is no broker offering categories 2 and 3, so consumers interested in both of those categories must subscribe to two brokers. The fact that they all chose the red broker is a result of its lower price (cf. Fig. 9).
