HPCA-7 Work in Progress Session: Call for Papers
Researchers are invited to submit abstracts of new research
for inclusion in an informal "Work In Progress" session at
the 7th International Symposium on High-Performance Computer
Architecture, to be held in Monterrey, Mexico, from January
20-24, 2001 (http://www.research.ibm.com/hpca7).
Abstracts of 1-2 pages (inclusive of any figures) should be
submitted electronically to José Duato (jduato@gap.upv.es) by
November 7, 2000. Longer submissions will not be considered.
Program committee members will select the best abstracts for
10-minute talks during the session. This is intended to be a fun,
informal session that will spark ideas and interactions. In
keeping with this spirit, prizes will be awarded based on
audience feedback. Topics of interest include all aspects of
high-performance computer architecture, including (but not
limited to):
- Processor architectures
- Cache and memory architectures
- Parallel computer architectures
- Impact of VLSI scaling on architecture
- Novel architectures for emerging applications
- Power-efficient architectures
- High-availability architectures
- High-performance I/O architectures
- Embedded, reconfigurable and intelligent architectures
- van Eck phreak-resistant architectures
- Real-time architectures
- Interconnection networks and network interfaces
- Innovative hardware/software tradeoffs
- Simulation and performance evaluation
- Benchmarking and measurements
Abstracts should clearly communicate the ideas behind the work,
and should highlight any initial results. Submissions will be
selected based on originality, the importance of the problem
addressed, and the potential for conveying the ideas clearly in
a mere ten minutes. Mature work that has been presented elsewhere
in some form is inappropriate, and will not be considered.
Accepted abstracts may be included on the CD-ROM with electronic
proceedings from the conference (which will be distributed to
conference attendees), and extended versions will be published
in the IEEE TCCA Newsletter. Notification of acceptance will
be sent by November 24, 2000.
