The Challenge

Mobile workers attend meetings, visit customers, and perform assignments. Often when they are on the go, they have a variety of information needs, such as market insight, technical support, and travel recommendations, to name just a few. Such workers could greatly benefit from a service that provides constant access to their main information resources, in a timely and efficient manner, helping them perform the task at hand or complete a business action. Typically, workers discover information by consulting with colleagues or domain experts (via chat or phone conversation) or by searching information databases. In most business situations, information is needed quickly–the discovery process must be efficient and information must be presented in a convenient manner. In addition, to prevent information overload, only relevant and available people should be contacted.
