Organizations often need to share data with collaborators, out-sourcers, or other external parties. To do this in a way that preserves the privacy of the individual and guarantees compliance with privacy regulations, there is a need for a wide range of data obfuscation techniques. The EDDI library provides a wide variety of both generic and data specific (e.g., credit card numbers, social security numbers) obfuscation algorithms. The library has been incorporated in the IBM products DataStage and Optim.
