Following form recognition and form dropout, filled in data is ready for automatic recognition. The recognition process starts with separating fields into individual characters, using the Character Separation algorithms. After that, a recognition engine (or engines) is applied. Both handwritten (ICR) and machine printed (PCR) characters can be recognized. When forms contain special fonts or barcodes, special modules are used for Bar-Code Detection and Recognition.
