Intelligent Form Processing
Several core technologies developed over the years by the Document Processing and Management group in the IBM Haifa Research Lab became the basis for the integrated IBM document processing platform, known as Intelligent Form Processing (IFP).
The IFP system was originally developed under contract with the Department of Revenue from one of the US geographies to process State tax forms. IFP has been in production use in processing these tax forms for over seven years and is currently installed in the revenue departments of five additional states.
Aside from processing tax forms, IFP used to capture data from Medicare claims, invoices, employment forms, and census forms for five different government censuses. IFP supports all these customers under a software maintenance contract, providing fix packs and release enhancements.
The IFP platform is easily configured and contains various system control features including system monitoring and statistical reporting. Both Linux and NT versions are available.
More information is available at the IFP web site: http://www2.clearlake.ibm.com/GOV/ifp/.
