Description:
XIV product field engineering (PFE) supports both end customers and IBM field personal with the utilization and serviceability of the XIV enterprise disk storage product. The role is full of rewarding opportunities to help customers truly take advantage of their IBM storage assets, and expand the utilization and customer satisfaction with the product.
PFE is frequently called in to provide in-depth technical expertise for critical situations. The PFE works extensively with internal organizations including XIV Development Support and XIV Development in Tel-Aviv along with hardware and software Level 1 support teams across North and South America. PFE provides support to the ITS Remote Support Centers to develop and drive the implementation of product repair, field management and problem resolution strategies. People in this role perform break-fix Support, critical situation support, customer impact event repair action analysis and field engineering change support. Key skills for this position are SAN and LAN Connectivity (Fibre Channel, TCP/IP and iSCSI), Remote Copy Technologies (sync and async), and Snapshot Technologies, knowledge of host system platforms such as Microsoft Windows, Linux, Solaris, AIX, VMWare, HP-UX, and VIO.
Requirements:
- B.A. in computer science or equivalent professional diploma with proven skills
- At least 3 year experience in the next fields:
- Storage and SAN solutions - Fibre Channel, TCP/IP and iSCSI, Remote Copy Technologies, snapshots
- Operating Systems - Microsoft Windows, Linux, Solaris, AIX, VMWare, HP-UX
- Strong problem solving skill
- Troubleshooting capabilities
- Team player
- Self learner
- Readiness to travel 10% travel annually
- Readiness to work in shifts coordinated with United States.
- English and Hebrew - Fluent
