Description:
This position is for an expert software engineer and a master troubleshooter with extensive experience in Linux internals, software design, and the Linux kernel. You will be part of a highly dynamic team creating a robust platform for the XIV storage system. You must be eager to troubleshoot and resolve any problem in any domain the team may face.
Responsibilities:
- Research, design, implement, and maintain the platform of the XIV storage system
- Design and create robust and maintainable code
- Troubleshoot complex issues
- Communicate across multi-disciplinary teams
- Mentor junior members of the team
Requirements:
- Proficiency in C (at least five years experience)
- Extensive knowledge of Linux internals and kernel
- Excellent software design and engineering skills
- Proven troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work as part of a highly dynamic team
Advantages:
- Experience with storage/disk technologies (SCSI/SAS/SATA)
- Understanding of hardware and its failure modes
- Experience working in an agile environment, TDD, or extreme programming
Education:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in computer science/engineering.
