Description:
This position involves performing functional and system-level testing for ProtecTier, IBM's innovative data de-duplication product line solutions. The selected candidate will participate in requirement analysis and design meetings; develop and execute test plans based on product requirements and functional specifications; conduct problem determination analysis for problems detected during testing; log defects and work with development teams to ensure the defect is being resolved; and work according to aggressive work plans in collaboration with other worldwide testing teams.
Requirements:
Candidates must have at least three years experience working with operating systems (Linux or any other UNIX based platforms) and at least two years experience participating in test design and writing test cases. Automation experience, python or perl- an advantage.
Fluent English skills (writing and speaking) are required. Candidates should be team players who are able to dive down to details on an issue. Strong problem-solving skills, analytical reasoning and troubleshooting capabilities as well as an understanding of analysis techniques for troubleshooting problems remotely (i.e., from application logs) are required. Experience with storage and SAN solutions (disk, Fibre Channel switches, etc.) and experience with backup solutions are advantages
Education:
B.A. or B.Sc. in computer science or an exact science from a recognized university or college graduation with an 80+ average.
