Description:
This position involves performing and enabling mostly remote technical third-level support to end-users and business partners for innovative IBM data de-duplication product line solutions. The selected candidate will provide technical support assistance to customers using problem determination/problem source identification skills. The role also entails providing on-site support to customers in complex deployments/POCs as well as troubleshooting. The selected candidate will utilize technical and negotiation skills in collaboration with other support operations/organizations to prioritize and diagnose problems to resolution.
Requirements:
Candidates must have at least three years of Level 3 support experience or at least 2 years experience in operating systems (UNIX and Windows platforms) and at least 2 Years experience participating in functional testing and test design of complex systems.
Fluent English writing and verbal skills are required. Candidates should have advanced interpersonal and self-learning skills, be team players, and be able to dive down to details. Strong problem solving skills, analytical reasoning, and troubleshooting capabilities are a must. Candidates should have strong knowledge of various operating systems (UNIX and Windows platforms) and have an understanding of analysis techniques for remote troubleshooting problems (i.e., from application logs). Experience with storage and SAN solutions (Disk, Fibre Channel switches, etc.) and backup solutions is an advantage. strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education:
B.A. in computer science or the exact sciences from a recognized university or college with an 80+ average.
