Description:
Information retrieval is the underlying technology powering popular Web search engines as well as enterprise search systems. The area continuously poses new challenges with the ever increasing volumes of information, the growing diversity of information sources and types (such as Web 2.0), and high user expectations. Our task, as part of IBM Research, is to develop state-of-the-art algorithms, technologies, and solutions that advance the information retrieval field towards solving the existing challenges and market requirements, through innovative research. We are looking for outstanding leaders who can innovate and assume technical leadership roles in the advancement of information retrieval technologies.
Requirements:
Candidates must have three to five years of experience, excellent algorithmic, programming, and software engineering skills, and excellent knowledge in data structures. Candidates must have C++/Java programming experience, and deep knowledge in OO programming. Good leadership and team-working skills are required. Candidates should be highly motivated and able to take initiative. Prior technical leadership experience and a background in information retrieval are advantages.
Education:
M.A. / M.Sc. / PhD in computer science or electrical engineering. Outstanding B.A. / B.Sc. candidates can also apply.
