Event Processing Research

The IBM Haifa Research Lab in Israel (HRL) is seeking excellent, energetic research scientists for pursuing advanced, beyond the state-of-the-art research activities.

The research focus in this area concentrates on the fundamental issues of the event processing conceptual model and language; engineering-oriented issues of efficient implementation in distributed and parallel environments; and applying autonomic computing techniques to event processing implementations. The event processing research group in HRL is one of the industry pioneers in this area and one of the leading teams working on establishing event processing as a discipline. The group works closely with relevant product groups in IBM and collaborates with academic research groups and other IBM Research labs

Applicants should be highly motivated, have good oral and written communication skills, and have a Ph.D. in computer science, information systems or related disciplines.

Applicants should also possess a strong background in one or more of the following areas: semantic modeling, programming languages, distributed computing, databases, or system building skills. Prior knowledge in event processing or stream processing is desired.

If you have broad knowledge and experience in one or more of the above areas, please contact Guy Sharon for more information about opportunities in IBM.
