Video Logger

Seamlessly combining user input with automatic automatic indexing technologies in real time is a key requirement for a successful practical system. The video logger has been architect to meet this requirement. The video logger is the gatekeeper to the world of digital video management.

Features:
  • Real time keyframe selection
  • Simultaneous MPEG encoding
  • Time stamped closed caption recording
  • VLAN control of tape deck
  • User annotation and editing of index

The current version of the video logger features the following and operates in real time: scene change detection, thumbnail creation, closed caption decoding, hardware-based MPEG encoding, automatic synchronization of scene changes and closed caption to the MPEG, keyframe editing facilities, and user control of indexing algorithms. The architecture allows for easy integration of new indexing algorithms into the framework of the video logger. The software has been developed in C++, and runs on Windows NT.
