YASSER SEIRAWAN: And things now have worked out very well for Garry Kasparov. Just to finish your point. Exactly. It's such an intimidating figure to say, you know, 12 billion positions a second. Why is Garry even in there with a chance? The reality is, the computer has so many calculations, seen so many things, that it only ends up choosing about 40 or 50 moves. Garry can do that very easily, and actually before the match, although IBM has doubled the calculatetive powers of Deep Blue, I didn't think it was enough and I made Garry a very, very big favor, and I think that's going to be true, I hope, for this match this weekend.
