Commentary for white move 17:
JOE HOANE: As a generalization. But where you get real profit
from doing program work is you add context. So every time you
add a piece of context, an exception to that case, or, you
know, another generalization of a whole class, inside the idea
of moving pawns. It's just a big win. It plays tremendously
better. 17 exf6
JOE HOANE: Because as soon as you do that, it plays better in
many more positions. I think if Deep Blue wins, there's two
reasons why it wins, against strong players. One is the
concrete accuracy that's given to it by the speed of the
/KHEFRPB and by the argument we use to discover forcing,
important lines.
