Game 3, white
26.Bxd1
Commentary for white move 26:
GK MOVE: 26 Bxd1.
MAURICE ASHLEY: He has inDade played -- indeed played that,
perhaps noticing a variation we talked about earlier. And now
the bishop on g6 is going to have to do something.
MIKE VALVO: Probably goes to h5.
MAURICE ASHLEY: Then Bxh5 is what you had mentioned earlier.
Do
you think Bf7 is at all possible maybe with an idea of g6?
ROMAN DZINDZIHASHVILI: Actually, after Bh7, no, you have to
calculate how quick it can break through with g6. And also,
white's bishop on d1 is not that great. Maybe it makes sense
to play Bh7, with a possible g6 break.
MAURICE ASHLEY: Possible opening of the g-line also in some
positions.
MIKE VALVO: How is the time going here? Because Garry is
getting short on time, isn't he?
MAURICE ASHLEY: Yes. You mentioned before that he has 33
minutes remaining for 14 moves, I believe? Yes, 14 moves,
while Deep Blue, its normal, quick self, it has 59 minutes.
MIKE VALVO: A little over two minutes a move.
MAURICE ASHLEY: This is not a bad situation time-wise for
Kasparov? He has plenty of time, really?
ROMAN DZINDZIHASHVILI: I don't think he'll have any problem.
MIKE VALVO: The computer hasn't got a lot of time, either.
ROMAN DZINDZIHASHVILI: I don't think it's the kind of position
that's difficult to play for either side. You have to, of
course, think here, think about there's no calculation
involved.
MAURICE ASHLEY: What is the plan here? What has happened
since
the exchange of queens?
MIKE VALVO: First, tell us when you're going to know.
