Game 3, white
24.Ra2
Commentary for white move 24:
ROMAN DZINDZIHASHVILI: Yeah, there we go now.
MIKE VALVO: Now Garry is going to get the position he wants
exactly.
GK MOVE: 24 Ra2.
MIKE VALVO: He didn't play Rb7. Now the computer has a
chance.
We have Maurice Ashley back. Now that you've came back,
we've
had a couple of we're things happen. We thought the computer
couldn't take the pawn because of Rb7, and the computer took
the pawn and Garry played Ra2. Is Garry playing like a
computer now?
MAURICE ASHLEY: You know, this last move is the kind of move
that you might think the guy plays in speed chess or if he's a
little drunk or crazy.
ROMAN DZINDZIHASHVILI: Or both.
MAURICE ASHLEY: Or both. As some have been, not in present
company, of course. But this Qa3 looks insane. Of course now,
we can expect a victory for one side --
MIKE VALVO: Do we know which side?
MAURICE ASHLEY: We don't know which side, we have no clue.
But
this game is completely insane, Roman. You didn't anticipate
Qa3. I heard you in back and I didn't think you liked this
move.
ROMAN DZINDZIHASHVILI: Qa3, no, not when my eyes open!
(Audience laughter.)
MAURICE ASHLEY: The chessboard looks completely insane now.
The
whole structure --
ROMAN DZINDZIHASHVILI: And what is weird that Kasparov didn't
consider Rb7 that looks very, very strong.
MIKE VALVO: He didn't even spend much time on the move. Of
course, he doesn't have much time to spend.
ROMAN DZINDZIHASHVILI: Let's see what he can possibly have in
mind.
MIKE VALVO: Well, Qb3 is forced.
