Brief Biography

Sholom M. Weiss is a Research Staff Member with the Data Analytics Research group since 1998. Prior to joining IBM, Sholom was Professor of Computer Science at Rutgers University for the past 20 years. He is the author of many books and research papers on data-mining and knowledge-based systems, serves on numerous boards of scientific journals, and has consulted widely on the commercial application of advanced data-mining techniques. He is the author, with Nitin Indurkhya, of "Predictive Data Mining: a Practical Guide" published by Morgan Kaufmann, 1997. Sholom is a Fellow of the American Association for Artificial Intelligence.
