Brief Biography
Bianca Zadrozny joined the Data Analytics Research group as a Reseach
Staff Member in September 2003, shortly after receiving her Ph.D. in Computer
Science from the University of California, San Diego. She also holds an
M.S. degree from UCSD and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Pontificia
Universidade Catolica, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her research interests
are in machine learning and data mining, particularly in methods for learning
decision policies from data describing outcomes of previous decisions.
While a Ph.D. student, Bianca was the recipient of an NSF Graduate Fellowship
and an IBM Ph.D. Fellowship. She interned at the Data Analytics Research
group during the summers of 2001 and 2002, working with Naoki Abe and
Ed Pednault in reinforcement learning, cost-sensitive learning and query
learning.
