My primary research interest lies in computational linguistics, cognitive science, artificial intelligence in general, and natural language processing in particular. More specifically, my interest is on the problems that overlap computer science and linguistics. My goal in natural langugae processing is to explore semantic representations for language structures, relationships of language structure to logic, mathematical linguistics, theory of computation as it relates to NLP, design and implementation of various systems for NLP, for example, anaphora resolution, machine translation, dialogue systems, and so on.

In order to understand and to automate the process of natural language understanding we need to research not only in computer science, but in statistics and linguistics as well. I am very interested in learning statistical properties of human language behavior, computational approaches to language understanding,a nd mathematical models of the psycholinguistics processes involved in human language understanding.
