Human-Computer Interaction Projects

Behavioral work in human-computer interaction at IBM is typically driven by design, a problem, a feature of user psychology, or social issues related to the needs and characteristics of people, groups, or organizations. Research in this area embarks from the perspective of users and their contexts of use and explores how technologies can be shaped and recruited into novel applications. The human-computer interaction community at IBM provides a disciplinary and professional home for researchers trained in the behavioral sciences and design fields whose work focuses on human-computer interaction and interactive system design, including but not limited to: anthropology, architecture, cognitive psychology, cognitive science, graphic design, human-computer interaction, information design, interaction design, visual design, linguistics, organizational psychology, perceptual psychology, psycholinguistics, rhetoric, social psychology, and sociology.
