Network Services Infrastructure Projects

We are conducting extensive research in server and network infrastructure, especially networking software and Internet services, for the next-generation Internet and networked applications. In particular, the focus is on developing a scalable platform and Web infrastructure that realizes new value-added functions and capabilities in the form of network services. Such network services may, for example, enable intelligent and fast content dissemination to a large variety of next-generation Internet clients. We expect this network services infrastructure to be critical for ISPs, e-business, and pervasive computing devices.

Ongoing projects in network services infrastructure include technologies for

  • intelligent communications and computing platform,
  • application-level multicast,
  • shared passive network performance discovery, and
  • secure multicast.
