Get Information Wherever you Are
If your
customers are away from home, or new to a foreign city, and want to find a
pub or a café, ,have your customers to deploy IBM CRL’s Location-based
services.

What does it do?
With CRL's Location-Based Services (LBS), you are able to
provide mobile users individually tailored IT service which supports all
technologies and applications, including GPS, GMS and wireless LAN
(local Area Network) in order to provide mobile users services that
relate to his or her location.
What’s New
CRL Location-Based Services technology provides the best
ease of use for end users both in data management and system
integration. With the CRL Voice Portal embedded, the service is of high
quality both in text and voice.
Customer Usability
With the Location-Based Services middleware CRL has
developed:
- Telecom service providers can provide answers to
location queries from mobile users, e.g. "Where am I?” and “Where is
the nearest ATM?"
- Marketing companies can send tailored
advertisements according to where the mobile user is, better targeting
the audience and avoiding irrelevant messages
- Urgent rescue or public services, such as 119
(fire) 110 (police) and 120 (ambulance), can automatically define a
caller’s location and react efficiently and accurately with the
ability to see their own resource distribution and transportation
situations in real-time
- Enterprises in telecom and communications
industries can support their strategy and optimize business by
analyzing the historic location data of targeted mobile users
- Wireless security control and monitor can be
applied for taxis, transportation vehicles, cash escorting as well as
other valuable assets and important people
- Geographical queries and electronic navigation
services can be provided for road, bridge, river, airport, hotel,
filling station and tourism destinations.
- Personalized intelligent services that let a user
know when a friend or colleague is nearby. This service is designed
for appointments as well as location-based games.
Customer Reference

important domestic customer in the telecom industry and passed
functional testing. In 2002, this innovation was applied and is still in
use on the demo Website of IBM Globalization Certification Lab in
Shanghai providing tourism information services.
