Middleware 2000 was the premier conference on distributed systems platforms and open distributed processing in the opening year of the new millenium. The Middleware conference series is a synthesis of the major conferences and workshops in this area into a single international event.  The focus of this series is on the design, implementation, deployment and evaluation of distributed systems platforms and architectures for future networked environments.  Middleware 2000 was the second in this series, the first being the very successful Middleware '98 in the Lake District.
