Harriet Nock

Biography:
Dr. Harriet Nock is a researcher in the Audio-Visual Speech Technologies Group at the IBM TJ Watson Research Center,
working primarily on the Multimedia Mining Project. She holds a BA in Computer Science (1994), an
MPhil in Computer Speech and Language Processing (1996) and a PhD in Information Engineering (2001), all from the
University of Cambridge, UK. She has taken part in The Johns Hopkins University Summer Research Workshop on Large
Vocabulary Speech Recognition(1997) and has held Visiting Research Fellow positions at the Center for Language and
Speech Processing at The Johns Hopkins University (1998) and at the Signal, Speech
and Language Interpretation Lab at the University of Washington (2000-2001). Her research interests currently include
automatic speech recognition, multimodal signal processing and multimodal information retrieval.
